2348 (Maghull) Squadron is one of the largest and most  successful ATC units on Merseyside. It is committed to providing  young people with structured and challenging training, useful both  in the Services and in Civilian life.

Flying in Tutor aircraft

Welcome to our site and find out more about flying, gliding,  shooting, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and how you could  receive a BTEC First Diploma in Public Services through membership of the country’s finest youth organisation.

This could be you at the controls of an RAF aircraft!

The worlds largest gliding organisation - ours!

Flying is one of our principle activities. Maghull cadets fly in many types of RAF aircraft. In addition to Air Experience flying  for all, Flying Scholarships are awarded to the lucky few. Even more will learn to fly Viking sailplanes solo to win their Glider Pilot’s Wings.

Tactical training camps are a regular feature

Maghull cadets who complete training with us will achieve a  Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award and Millennium Volunteer’s Award. Airshows, Field Training Camps and visits to RAF Stations in the UK,  Germany and Cyprus complete a picture of what’s on offer right here  in Maghull.
