The Volunteer Gliding Schools are based  throughout the UK and are equipped with Viking and Vigilant  gliders The Gliding Scholarship aims to teach Maghull  cadets to fly solo by the end of the course. The instructor jumps out (whilst on the ground!) and then the cadet takes  off, flies around the airfield and lands completely on his or her own!
